St. Clare Hospital / Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI)'s Policies on Death with Dignity
| 1. Allows doctors and other health care providers to talk with patients about treatment options under the Washington Death with Dignity Act.|| Yes|
The physician-patient relationship is a sacred relationship therefore patients and their physicians may discuss and explore all end of life treatment options. If a patient's intent is to pursue Death with Dignity, he or she is informed that the service is not provided within CHI Franciscan Health facilities or by CHI Franciscan providers.

CHI Franciscan Health will direct interested patients to contact the Washington Department of Health or the Washington State Hospital Association for information on supportive organizations and providers.
