1. Allows doctors and other health care providers to talk with patients about treatment options under the Washington Death with Dignity Act. Yes

While the hospital does not require providers to inform patients of their available options under the Death with Dignity Act, the policy does not prohibit physicians and other health care providers from doing so.

2. Ensures that patients who request assistance with Washington's Death with Dignity Act are referred to a supportive organization or provider. Yes

If a patient requests a referral, the patient's primary clinical care giver (nurse or social worker) will refer them to the Department of Health and End of Life Washington websites.

3. Allows doctors to participate in Death with Dignity in its hospital. No

The policy does not prohibit a physician from participating under the Act outside the scope of his or her capacity as an employee or independent contractor of Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center.

4. Allows doctors to participate in Death with Dignity in clinics and other facilities it owns or operates. No
